A Screaming Good Time

Pumpkin Carving

So it's 2 days before Halloween and we finally decided to carve our pumpkin that has been sitting on the front porch for weeks.
Annika was initially very excited about helping "make punken"
***

Then I asked if she wanted to feel what was inside. She peeked inside, said "No mama" and folded her arms.
***

She did end up touching the insides one time, with a lot of coaxing. She quickly threw it in the bowl and said, "A-done. Down, kay?"
***

After the "punken" was carved and lit Annika took interest. She even helped me get it on the front porch for everyone to see-for 2 days anyway!

I played with my friends and not a moment was dull!

We joined Colin and his family at the Zoo for Trick-or-Treating.
Cute Colin-Bear.
***

I LOVED the monkeys.
***

We trick-or-treated a little but the lines were forever long for one sucker. We didn't go for the candy anyway.
What a fun, fun, fun day!!!

...and the day was packed full...

We finally did make it back to the pumpkin patch and both girls checked out several pumpkins.
***

Annika, of course, found the yuckiest ones and dug around.
***

She decided it was time to be a scarecrow in the pumpkin patch so she covered her head with hay as well as plenty of dirt.
***

What adorable little punkins!

It was the week before Halloween...

Mckenzie and McKyla joined us at Wheeler Farm. We wanted to take pictures at the Pumpkin Patch but the girls quickly discovered the animals. Once Annika saw the "neigh" we had to change out plans.
***

The girls stared at the Clydesdale forever.
***

Annika went for a ride on the pony. She was the bravest cowgirl at the farm.
***

The shortest hug in history was also the cutest!!

~Kid's Night Out Halloween Party~

I wore my costume on most of the afternoon to "get used to it" and I loved roaring at any dog walking by the house.
***

My Mama came to Kid's Night Out with me and even drew whiskers on my face. How silly!
My Mama is going to be Dorothy this year and my Papa is going to be the Scarecrow.
Happy 70th Anniversary Wizard of Oz!!!
post script: Thank you Katie for making these great costumes!! We have never had so many compliments and it's all thanks to you.

Annual Spring City Barn Dance

Every year we do the barn dance at Oma and Opa's barn in Spring City, Utah. Last year it was freezing and I wasn't sure about it all, but this year was a blast!! I danced with my cousins Lucy and Kira most of the night.

***
The next morning Paisley and Kira decided I was the baby for the day. They pushed me around in the stroller all day and even let me watch a movie in the stroller. I love being taken care of.

21 months

We are counting down the months until Annika is 2 YEARS OLD-Crazy!! After 2 you just don't count months anymore, right?! Well, we are preparing for Halloween and Annika is going to be the Cowardly Lion from Wizard of Oz although she is quite the opposite of a coward. She'll try anything, man.

She often enjoys coloring on paper, walls, floors, her dresser, her body...just about anywhere. Especially when she gets to use markers. She is also often found sitting in her rocking chair (thanks Gramps) reading a book or looking at a photo album with her american doll Samantha.

Oh my gosh she's just so stinkin' cute!! She's going to be such a good big sister when she actually starts believeing that a baby is coming. Everytime Mama shows her the tummy and says, "A baby is in there." Annika says, "No!" and gives me a 'you're crazy' look. It's hilarious!
